Our Artists
Allyson
Allyson has been face painting for thirty years (holy cow!) and is the owner and premier artist of Gossamer Designs. Allyson is one of the most sought-after face painters in the Lower Mainland. Her talent for providing fun and creative designs is matched only by her enthusiasm.
Allyson has won numerous face and body painting contests and her work has been featured at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, in Maclean’s Magazine and online in The Huffington Post. Allyson is also a makeup artist and Fine Arts painter. Her work can be seen on Instagram at @allysongrantarts and @allysongrantfinearts.
jacquie
Jacquie is a professional animator, illustrator and cartoonist who has taught children’s art classes and tutorials for over ten years. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from SFU and works with the Surrey School Board.
Jacquie joined the Gossamer Designs team in 2011 and has brought smiles to hundreds of children with her face painting. Her animation training means that she can draw and paint almost anything, especially animals!
Barbara
Barbara is an animator with a background in numerous artistic mediums including theatrical makeup, set painting, illustration, and watercolours. They have received a diploma in Classical Animation from Vancouver Film School and is excited to apply and grow in the artistic skills they have learned.
Barbara loves children and has many years of experience taking care of and entertaining kids. From helping their mom with a home daycare, volunteering to read to and supervise the younger classes in school, babysitting for friends and family, and helping out with their baby brother!
amber
Amber is a BFA graduate of Emily Carr University, with a focus on drawing and painting. She enjoys painting in surrealist and expressionist styles using landscapes and animals as inspiration.
Alongside Gossamer Designs, Amber also has a very cool job as a live event painter for L'Oreal, painting bespoke perfume bottles upon purchase! This fast-paced and creative art job is a perfect parallel to face painting, both jobs offering a chance to make people smile.
Amber aspires to be a full-time artist, doing commissions, murals and selling her fine art work at markets.
Arianna
Arianna is a creative artist and face painter working in animation and visual effects.
From fun, sparkling unicorns, to roaring tigers, to superheroes and ooky spooky monsters, Arianna loves transforming faces into colourful works of art and helping make special events even more memorable. Seeing kids light up when they see their finished face paint is absolutely the most rewarding part of the job.

Ever
Ever has loved art since a very young age. You'll often find her painting and drawing nature and people. As a child, Ever loved to face paint herself and family for Hallowe'en, usually ending up with multiple costumes to accommodate her face paint!
Ever's first experience face painting in public was volunteering at the Vancouver Children’s Festival in 2023. It was the perfect match of her love of working with kids, volunteerism and art.
Outside of all things visual art related, she loves camping and playing volleyball and basketball. She hopes to one day find a career in art and to explore her interest in literature and sports.
